Our last Women’s Group Potluck Dinner will occur on Friday, April 19th in Thompson Hall. PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT WILL START AT 6:00PM.
And very excitingly, we will be joined by Mary Ann Jung. Remember last year’s event when she portrayed Julia Child? This year she will be performing as her favorite character. Read the description of what you can expect below:
ROSIE THE RIVETER
Inspiring, Interactive Show
By Award-Winning Actress & Smithsonian Scholar Mary Ann Jung
In World War II, women joined the U.S. workforce by the millions to replace men who had gone off to fight. Mary Ann Jung presents the delightful story of Rosie the Riveter through the eyes of Rose Leigh Monroe who worked at the largest aircraft factory in the world-Willow Run in Michigan. Laugh at the pranks the men played on the women in factories. Learn about war bonds and what rationing meant on a personal level. Discover which came first-the Rosie posters, song, or real women who worked to help America win the war. Who was the real Rosie? The answer is fun and riveting!
As always, you will receive a SignUp Genius sometime after you register. While we aren’t selling tickets, there will be an opportunity to donate whatever you’d like at the event. (So bring some cash! 😂)
