Intergenerational Garden Workday
Church members and neighbors of any age are invited to work and learn together in our Intergenerational Garden this spring. In the coming weeks, we’ll create new raised beds, tend to the flower beds around the perimeter of the garden, add new soil, and plant seeds and crops to harvest later.
GROUP WORKDAYS:
- Sunday, Mar. 24, 2:30–4:30pm
- Sunday, Apr. 21, 11:30am–1:00pm
- Saturday, May 11, 9:30–11:30am
- Friday, Jun. 7, 5:00–7:00pm
- Saturday, Jun. 29, 9:30–11:30am
The produce from this garden is donated to the Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC), providing meals to food-insecure individuals and families in the Towson area.
Here, children and adults come together to work and to learn about the interdependence of our ecosystem, the importance of sustainable practices in agriculture, and the benefits of eating healthy foods grown locally. As we lovingly harvest roughly 200lbs of fresh fruit, vegetables, and flowers each year, we grow in our understanding of what it means to be good stewards of God’s creation.
