Advent Reading with Pastor Joel (Virtual)

Join Pastor Joel this Advent season as he reads Mark Thibodeaux’s great book on prayer: “Armchair Mystic – How Contemplative Prayer Can Lead You Closer to God.” We’ll meet twice to check in on how we are experiencing the book, though these gatherings will be optional. Thibodeaux describes the prayer life in four stages – Talking at God, Talking to God, Listening to God, and being with God – and “Armchair Mystic” is a great book for those desiring the nuts-and-bolts of prayer, as well as for those who want to dive deeper into their relationship with God.
