McKenzie Waldhauser

Director of Communication & Connections

McKenzie was born in Baltimore but brought up on the coast of North Carolina. She was homeschooled along with her three siblings until she attended Geneva College, where she studied Community Ministry. While working at Grace Fellowship Church in Timonium, McKenzie began pursuing her MA in Theology with the Ecumenical Institute at St. Mary’s Seminary and University on Northern Pkwy. Before finishing her first, she joined a second Master of Arts program, studying Higher Education. She graduated from both programs in the spring of 2021 and began working as Church of the Resurrection’s Director of Administration, eventually transitioning to become their Director of Communications (Lutherville, MD). McKenzie loves to organize, design, and streamline things! With her passion for communications and administration, she believes God has brought her to this exact place in time, to serve a purpose and community larger than herself.

Interests & Hobbies – McKenzie’s hobbies include spending time with her mother and adult siblings (usually over a Sunday supper or game of cards), attempting to train her two rambunctious Labradoodles to no avail, making (and eating) cheeseboards, and playing ping pong on a recreational league.

Interesting Tidbit – Every childhood summer, McKenzie and her siblings would pick up a new (and usually random) skill together. Some of the acquired skills include: juggling, driving stick shift, lucid dreaming, writing in haiku, speaking in Pig Latin, speaking in regular Latin, memorizing full decks of cards in any order – and they even got their motorcycle licenses!
