Sunday Community Lunch is TPC's Signature Mission Project to provide a nourishing warm meal to our community. SCL has recived an overwhelming response from the members and friends of TPC. It is thrilling to see the Holy Spirit at work among our congregation and beyond. The creativity of TPC members has no bounds. Over 130 people are committed to cooking and serving weekly, as well as providing casseroles to be stored in our church freezer. Fresh Market graciously provides all the bread and desserts for meals every Sunday.
Lunch is served from 12:00—1:00 PM in Thompson Hall. Ten teams of eight or more take turns each week. The team determines the menu for the day which has included casseroles, chili, and turkey and ham roasts. Along with a main dish, team members provide salad, milk, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. A vegetarian entrée is also provided. Teams are intergenerational and often include gifted members who entertain all with piano or guitar music or play a great game of chess.
We look forward with anticipation to see what else the Lord has in store for us. We continue to seek God’s guidance and will be listening to where God takes us with Sunday Community Lunch.
