Mission and social justice are important components of our church school program. The Church School participates in several mission projects during the year, including collecting supplies or books for needy children (in conjunction with the Children's Sabbath observance), a McKim Center Angel Tree Project at Christmas, the Guatemala Education Scholarship Soda Can Project, and the One Great Hour of Sharing Lenten Offering in the spring. Children also make Meals on Wheels favors throughout the church year and participate in a quaterly 100 bagged lunch project for Sarah's Hope Shelter.  Children may also participate with their families in intergenerational mission projects such as the Intergenerational Garden and Project Clean Stream.

Children and youth are encouraged to feel that their gifts of service, talent, and money are important in the work of Christ's church.  All children are provided with their own set of offering envelopes to use throughout the year.  There is a special Treasure Chest in the second floor hallway for children age 3 through middle school.  Children should place their offering in the Treasure Chest each week. Various students are selected to bring the church school offering forward during the worship service.  In addition to participation in Church School wide mission projects, children have the opportunityto give gifts of talent and service by participating in worship as members of the Cherub and Children's Choir or assisting with the Children's Message and other parts of the worship service.
